A national juried exhibition

40 S. Carroll St
Frederick MD 21701

May 2 - July 12

Juror: Kyle Hackett

This exhibition juried by Kyle Hackett, assistant professor of art at American University included a wide range of work in a variety of media by artists from around the region and the nation.  These are a few pieces I thought were notable:

My friend Ann Stoddard received the Grand Prize for her double screen corner video. View more of Ann's work here:  https://www.annstoddard.net/

Below is a piece I loved for its insouciance, 'A Bloom by Lisa Krannichfeld is part of her Girls and Guise Series. See more at https://lisakrannichfeld.com/girls-and-guise-series/. The work had a glossy, hard resin surface under which she used ink, watercolor, and paper collage.

Kaylee Rose, Have a Nice Day. Oil on canvas

Above: Have a Nice Day, an oil on canvas by Kaylee Rose. Loved it. Her work can be found here: https://www.kayleeroseart.com/work/current-work

I think Scott Ponemone's solo exhibition (on the second floor )--'Two by Two', A Portrait of America in watercolors---- which he published in a book by that same name demonstrates his extraordinary skill at conveying a realistic 'portrait' of America.

Kyle selected my painting 'Ones and Zeros' which had previously exhibited at the Howard County Open in 2026, and at the Towson Arts Collective in 2025.
